Dr. Jim Henderson

On behalf of the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System, we look forward to welcoming you to the University of New Orleans for the seventh annual University of Louisiana System Academic Summit. We are grateful to UNO for hosting the Summit and look forward to taking in all that this beautiful campus has to offer including live jazz performances at the Sandbar.

Our strategic framework includes aspirations to expand student success, research, and financial stewardship. The Summit focuses on service-learning, undergraduate research and artistic expression. Gathering together as a System in this capacity is an opportunity to work toward our aspiration to leverage our collective research capacity to improve quality of life and stimulate economic growth.

I truly appreciate each faculty and staff member’s participation in the Summit. Many of you have dedicated significant time and effort in mentoring our student presenters. Know that your efforts are impactful and long-lasting. Student presenters, I am proud of the work you have done thus far and encourage you to continue your pursuit of education throughout your life.

I encourage everyone attending the Summit to take advantage of this opportunity and network with students, faculty and staff from your sister institutions throughout the state. Thank you for all you are doing to ensure the UL System makes Louisiana a better place.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jim Henderson
